Indus Water is deeply involved in the space of research in Water and Waste Water and supports research activities and projects in its own capacity in addition to supporting various agencies. The Water Space requires so much research to find an equitable solution to its multifaceted aspects . From development of AI applications to fundamental research into specific biological and heavy metal research – Indus is involved with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Indus is involved in a joint Research Project with Prof. Hadas Mamane, Head of Environmental Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering, Tel-Aviv University, Israel.
This project develops Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to reduce the need for expensive and time-consuming sampling and testing. It employs real-time data analysis with fast response time for variant parameters as inputs for the model that are used for predicting other parameters.
Variant parameters include:
- Water quality parameters (e.g., temperature, pH, electrical conductivity).
- Geographic parameters (e.g., location).
- Other case-specific parameters (e.g., rainfall, river flow).
One method is applying a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) model, which is a nonlinear mapping between an input vector and a corresponding output vector.
